Borrowed: Thomas Nilsson's Little Red Riding Hood
I realize this has nothing to do with photography, but this is an example of animation brilliance. Be sure to check out the high definition version on vimeo to read all the fine print.
New: Boston Marathon
Crowds of spectators sit and watch crowds of runners.

Old: Trillium
Spring seems to have finally arrived, hopefully for good this time. This one is from my earliest days with a digital camera in May of 2003, when a 3 megapixel SLR was still a fairly impressive camera.

Borrowed: Jason Salavon's Emblem (2001: A Space Odyssey)
I came across Jason’s work in my college alumni magazine and found his ideas intriguing and the results strangely beautiful. From his website:
Using software processes of his own design, Jason Salavon generates and reconfigures masses of communal material to present new perspectives on the familiar. Though formally varied, his projects frequently manipulate the roles of individual elements arranged in diverse visual populations.
In case none of that made sense, he made the image at right by averaging the colors of every frame of Kubrick’s 2001: A Space Odyssey and arranging the results in concentric circles.
Visit Jason’s website for other films and lots of different techniques and subject matter.
New: Fog
