George’s Coney Island

Coney Island Hot DogsI get the cravings just by thinking about this sign. Pure goodness, distilled into a bun. Eating at George’s makes me feel like I’ve travelled back in time.

The guy who made that sign lived in my boyfriend Ryan’s house, and made signs in his Carriage house. He has an old Lincoln Plaza sign hanging up in there.

Kate and I want to know: since when has it been George’s? She says you make no sense.

This was my grandfathers favorite place! He passed away last year and when my family was in Washington DC this summer we were at the museum of American History and there was a framed picture of this scene for sale so it now hangs in our family room to remind us of him. Great Photo!
